Supply Lines
Five Supporting Relationships Every
Planter and Pastor Needs
By Scott Nelson

Pastors are in dire need of relational support.
Despite all the support they give to others, pastors are in dire need of relational support themselves. 70% of pastors do not have a single close friend and 40% have considered leaving ministry. Church planters are especially impacted when the initial startup is over and they lose their support in years 4-9 of the plant. This deficit of support leaves pastors empty, lonely, and burned out.
Learn the Theology and Research
Based on biblical principles and research from the United States and Canada, Supply Lines builds a strong framework for the support pastors need for healthy ministry.
Unveil Common Misunderstandings
What prevents pastors from getting the support they need? Nelson unveils the most common misunderstandings and offers practical wisdom on overcoming them.
Develop Your 5 Supply Lines of Support
This book teaches pastors and church planters to set up and strengthen a support plan for themselves, and also teaches movement leaders to set up support systems for others.
About the Author
Scott Nelson (M.Div, D.Min) is the church planter and lead pastor of Covenant Grove Church in Modesto, California. He also serves as a church planting coach and trainer, and he has spoken across the country on evangelism, discipleship formation, leadership development, and strategic planning.
As part of his doctoral work, Scott performed qualitative research with dozens of church planters and coaches across the United States and Canada to find out what contributes to healthy pastoral ministry. Over and over again, the research proved that there were five types of relationships that planters and pastors needed in their lives in order to thrive in ministry. With strong Supply Lines, Scott discovered, pastors are protected from burnout and have the support they need for bigger dreams, wiser decisions, and healthier results.
